RBA was invited by the Ramaiah College of Law (RCL) to judge the Debate competition as part of the Asterias 2024 college fest focussing on inclusion, diversity with special focus on disability. Rtn. Kiran Kumar was part of the debating judge group. The subject for the debate was “Should Disability be a factor in deciding the parental custody in divorces”. The debate had 12 participating teams with 6 teams debating “For” and other 6 teams debating “Against”. The debate was lively and the teams from ST Joseph’s college took home most of the prizes for the debate. Rtn. Kiran Kumar was also part of the “Short Film” judging committee as well and again the 5 short films were well made and focused on the theme of determination, acceptance and inclusion. The St Joseph’s college entry of “Sunshine in the eyes” was declared the best short film. RCL has committed to involve RBA for future inter collegiate festivals with more competitions and also be a part of the Rotaract Club for RBA. Thanks to Rtn. Arun Mohan, President RBA for identifying and enabling the Rotaract engagement. The Competition took place on 21st and 22nd Dec 2024.
