Rotary Bangalore Abilities Felicitates Persons with Disabilities on IDPD

On 15th December 2024, Rotary Bangalore Abilities (RBA) celebrated the achievements of individuals with disabilities, honoring them with Unsung Hero Awards across six categories. The event, held in conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), highlighted remarkable contributions and personal triumphs.

Awardees:

•  Art Achiever Award: T.V. Aishwarya (Visually Impaired) 
• Academic Achiever Award: M.C. Bindhya (Multiple Sclerosis) 
• Young Achiever Award: Advaith Rajesh Menon (Autism Spectrum)
• Social Impact and Change Maker Award: Rahul Gambhir (Visually Impaired) 
• Professional Achiever Award: Avinash Kumar (Visually Impaired) 
• Sports Achiever Award: Shashruti Vinayak Nakade (Orthopedic Disability)

Each awardee received a cash prize, an Achievement Certificate, and the prestigious Unsung Hero Award, recognizing their extraordinary talents and contributions. 

Event Highlights: 

IDPD Unsung Hero Awards: Organized in collaboration with Rotary Districts 3191 and 3192, the event celebrated individuals who have made significant, though lesser-known, contributions to their communities. 

-Launch of a Scholarship Program: Aimed at supporting individuals with disabilities in pursuing education and skills development. 

-Rotaract Club at Ramaiah College of Law: Inauguration of this club to inspire and engage young minds in service and inclusion. 

-MOU with Saira Jobs: Partnership to host a job fair for Persons with Disabilities, strengthening career pathways and employment opportunities.
